What is SR-22 Insurance?

SR-22 Insurance is required by the Department of Licensing in order to reinstate your driver's license in some cases.  People often refer to this requirement as SR-22 Insurance when, in actuality the SR-22 is a form that your insurance company files with the state indicating that you have the required amount of liability insurance.  If your insurance coverage lapses, the insurance company is required to notify the state.  You can lose your license if you fail to maintain the required level of insurance.
